Suspicious Box Near Sidewalk Prompts Large Police Presence / Riverside | 10.21.2021

RIVERSIDE, CA | 10.21.21 | At approximately 1:15pm PST, the City of Riverside Police, Fire Department, and AMR responded to a suspicious package on Monroe St / Indiana Ave near California Baptist University in Riverside.

Officers on scene found a written note on the sidewalk, pointing towards the bushes stating "Pipe Bomb". A drone was flown in shortly after to locate the package.

After the item was deemed safe to approach, the Riverside Police - Technical Service Unit (TSU) conducted a thorough investigation of the item and determined the object to be not dangerous to the public. The item in question is said to have been an old high voltage fuse.
