Resident Falls Victim To Home Invasion, Has Gun Pointed At Head After Being Demanded Money / Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN | 07.19.2023 - In a harrowing incident on Wednesday night at the 1200 Block of Applebrook Lane, a brave resident foiled a home invasion, preventing any injuries or fatalities.

According to the victim, the suspect, disguised as a maintenance worker, knocked on their front door, claiming to be there for a filter repair. Wearing a mask and a hoodie, the intruder's intentions were concealed until they revealed a gun and demanded money after gaining entry.

The situation escalated further as the suspect tied the resident's hands and attempted to raid the property. However, displaying remarkable resourcefulness, the victim managed to free themselves before the suspect's escape. Taking matters into their own hands, the resident retrieved a personal firearm and fired at the fleeing intruder, resulting in a short chase outside that led to a brief but intense exchange of gunfire.

Thanks to the resident's quick thinking and response, the suspect eventually fled the scene without causing harm to anyone.

The Memphis Police are actively investigating the incident.
