Man Attempts Suicide, Catches Engine Of Car On Fire / Highland | 01.25.2020
HIGHLAND, CA | 01.25.2020 | Saturday evening, at roughly 5:20pm, emergency services received reports of a car smoking in the driveway at a residential home. San Manuel Fire Dept, San Bernardino County Fire Dept (SBCoFD) and Highland Fire Dept were dispatched to the scene to put out the flame underneath the hood of the Honda. Highland Police Dept (San Bernardino Co. Sheriffs) were also dispatched to help secure the scene and assist the outlying area.
According to one member of the family, the victim that was inside of the Honda at the time was allegedly trying to commit suicide by exploding the engine of the vehicle, instead catching on fire. Due to the immediate response and fast acts, fire personnel were able to put out the blaze on the engine and while also saving the home that the victim resided in. The victim was later seen inside the back of a Sheriff’s Ford Explorer being evaluated by SBCoFD personnel and shortly after transported by deputies.
