Massive Warehouse Fire At Amazon Third-Party Distribution Center / Redlands | 06.05.2020

REDLANDS, CA | 06.05.2020 | Early Friday morning, at 5:30am, Redlands Fire Department received a call from an employee at a third-party distribution center used by Amazon services located at 2255 West Lugonia Avenue in Redlands.

Upon arrival, Redlands Fire Dept. was outmatched by the flames that grew quickly, rapidly spreading to nearby commercial structures causing extreme internal damages to the property and surrounding area. San Bernardino County Fire, Loma Linda Fire, Colton Fire, and other fire department agencies were requested to battle the large 600,000+ sq ft warehouse fire.

One Fire Chief explained that the sprinkler system was designed to eliminate such fires, but for an unexplained reason, the system failed and was beaten by the flames.

Carl Baker, Public Information Officer for City of Redlands Fire Department, stated that when the department arrived, over 100 employees were already evacuated and that no one had reportedly been injured, harmed, or suffered from any smoke inhalation.

The massive fire is set up to be under investigation as soon as all flames are put the rest.

OCT/NOV 2020 UPDATE: Redlands Police and the Bureau of Arson, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, have partnered together as the cause of the fire is labeled suspicious. ATF has a $5,000.00 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction.
