RIVERSIDE, CA - 02.20.21 - Early Saturday night, around 8:28pm, reports of a commercial structure fire went out to the City of Riverside Fire Department regarding smoke coming out of the Villa Maria Apartment complex on Arlington Ave, just West of El Hijo St.
The Riverside Fire Department responded with three Type I Engines and two Truck Companies to suppress the fire before it could reach the rest of the apartments within the complex.
The fire took roughly half an hour to be fully contained by firefighters on scene.
Per witness reports, the fire may have been caused by an oil fire during cooking, same witness reports say the person who lives in the apartment that caught fire, also runs a pizzeria out of it.
At this time, the fire is under investigation and remains undetermined.
