Vegetation Fire Caused By Fireworks Misses Cell Towers / San Bernardino | 05.09.2021
SAN BERNARDINO, CA | 05.09.2021 | Sunday afternoon, at 4:53 PM, San Bernardino Co. Fire responded to reports of a vegetation fire on N. Hangglider Road & Little Mountain Road in San Bernardino, just off of Northbound Interstate 215.
A witness who called 911 said the fire ignited after seeing several occupants in two pickup trucks launching fireworks into the air, almost catching their vehicles on fire that were parked nearby.
Within 10 minutes of San Bernardino Co. Fire and San Bernardino Police arriving on scene, flames grew quickly as wind speeds picked up, forcing the fire to spread further down and up the hillside.
After an additional hour and several minutes, flames were then knocked down once a more aggressive attack took place. Public access was shut down by the San Bernardino Police within several minutes of the call being dispatched and remained closed for several hours.
