Brush Fire Destroys Two Homes, Burning Over 100 Acres / Jurupa Valley | 06.25.2022
JURUPA VALLEY, CA | 06.25.2022 | Saturday afternoon, at approximately 3:50pm, CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire responded to reports of a large vegetation fire in the riverbottom near Indian Camp Road and Candlelight Drive in Jurupa Valley.
Due to structural threats to multiple residential homes and high winds, mutual aid was immediately requested from the following; Ontario Fire, Corona Fire, Riverside City Fire and San Bernardino County Fire. Air support was also conducted by multiple Sky Cranes and Heli Attacks. The fire in the riverbottom was at 40 acres an counting and later spread to the nearby golf course, Jurupa Valley Country Club, along with destroying at least two residential homes, this caused a mandatory evacuation order for the area.
The fire that threatened the neighborhood was eventually knocked down by firefighters and aircrafts assigned to protect the homes from further burning.
Handcrews and aircrafts also began an aggressive attack on the fire to defend a nearby rail bridge and steel factory.
The rate of spread eventually stopped at 110 acres with at least two structures gone. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
(As of June 27th, the cause of the fire remains under investigation and holds at 110 acres with 80% containment.)
