Semi Overturns After Unlocked Crane Hits Bridge / Highland | 07.22.2020

HIGHLAND, CA | 07.22.2020 | Early Wednesday morning, around 8am, a semi truck with a crane hit the the overpass for Central Ave, going Eastbound on the 210 freeway in Highland, causing the semi to overturn and land on its driver side on the embankment.

When the driver hit the overpass of Central Ave, multiple sections of the crane became dislodged, causing a traffic hazard in the #1 lane and partially the #2 lane. After the driver hit the overpass, the semi lost control, forcing the rig to overturn and slide into the embankment on the side of the freeway, trapping the driver. This also caused other equipment and pipes to spread across the lanes.

Moments later, the driver was freed after several motorists pulled over and got out. The driver is expected to recover with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
